Community-based Resource Centre

“By the community for the community” resonates strongly here as this carved out space is created for relationship building, life enriching lessons and encouraging collaborations with peers and fellow community members.

We’re looking ahead to set up at least one community-based centre in each community we are working with, in addition to the 3 current centres (2 in Klang Valley, 1 in Perak) that are equipped with books, game sets, toys and computers and audio-visual aids.

These centres come with education and literacy programmes, indoor games facilities, sports and referral services as well as services to support youth, families and people with learning difficulties.

Our latest buzz – ‘Bumblebee’, a mobile resource centre is already on the road, bringing resources and programmes to various urban poor communities within the Klang Valley!

Think you can lend a hand – volunteer, partner with us to set-up a centre or bring Bumblebee into a new community? For enquiries, please email Ooi Kiah Hui at kiahhui@malaysiancare.org
