Malaysian Care was awarded with an 'Anugerah Khas' (Special Award) by the Prison Department of Malaysia in conjunction with their launching of Prisons Day at the Prison Officers Training Centre in Taiping on 3rd October 2005.

The award was given in recognition of Malaysian Cares 25 years commitment in working with the prison authorities and providing services which includes religious education and counseling to prisoners, and helping ex-prisoners back into society upon their release by providing half-way houses, aftercare, referrals to drug rehabilitations centres and helping them to employment opportunities.
